Kingswells Time Capsule
We have been developing the space out the side of the Centre and turning it into a community garden for everyone to enjoy. In 2025, we buried a time capsule in the garden, with 25 items in it, for it to be dug up again 25 years later in 2050!
In 2050 we would like to let the village know what it was like to live here in 2025. We asked the community to supply items that can go in the capsule that represents what life is like in Kingswells today. This could have been be something personal or something that represented the village itself. We received an amazing variety of items from a book created by the children of Kingswells Primary, to a t-shirt and tea towel decorated by the school clubs and honey from the bee hives at Prime 4.
On the 25th April 2025 we held an event in the garden that was attended by the local community, school and businesses. Councillors Kate Blake and Steve Delaney came along as special guests along with the Lord Provost who marked the burial of the capsule and officially opened the garden. We raised some money for Dementia UK in line with the garden being named Forget-Me-Not garden.
The event in 2050 will be held by who knows, but you, your friends, family and maybe even your children can come along to see it!
