Vote For Us!

Our eco-friendly project is in the running to receive a small share of £333,333 from the Just Transition Participatory Budgeting Fund that will help contribute towards our journey to net zero - but we need your vote to make it happen!

The centre currently provides ultra-low cost activities for children and families during school holidays, such as bouncy castles, den building, treasure hunt, crafts and much more. We organise fun activities for families who wish to get out of the house in the holidays and not worry about costly days out.

We're applying for a grant for a commercial oven so that we can produce a far greater amount of food than we do at the moment, this produces a bigger a turnover for the centre, which in turn will allow us to re-invest back into these groups such as Holiday Clubs, by providing low cost or free meals.

This in turn helps to reduce inequalities by supporting families caught up in food poverty and parents who require free or low-cost solutions for feeding and entertaining their children.

We would support the fund by taking part in sustainable practices. It allows us to cook with the produce grown in our community garden or donated by the Co-op, which in turn again allows us to produce sustainable value meals and increase ‘green’ skills in the garden.

Finally, the funding’s purpose is to help communities transition towards Net Zero. Our project would support this by purchasing a modern commercial oven as it uses less energy to produce the same volume of food than multiple smaller-scale cooking appliances, reducing electricity consumption and lowering carbon emissions.
